Singapore Is Already Coming to Malaysia. Are They Buying From You?

Let me give you one number.
21.1 million.
That was the number of visitor arrivals from Singapore to Malaysia in 2025.
An increase of 11.8% compared with the previous year, according to Tourism Malaysia.
To be clear, it does not mean 21.1 million different people.
It includes repeat visits and same-day visitors.
But that is exactly the opportunity.
Singaporeans are not visiting Malaysia only once in their lifetime.
Many can come again.
And again.
For food.
Shopping.
Family holidays.
Weekend escapes.
Golf.
Wellness.
Nature.
Events.
And local experiences.
So, here is my question:
How much Singapore business did you get last year?
Was it:
RM100,000?
RM10,000?
RM1,000?
Or zero?
If your answer is “very little” or “zero”, we need to ask why.
Because the Singapore market is not small.
And Singaporeans are already coming to Malaysia.
Perhaps the problem is not the market.
Perhaps the problem is that they cannot find you.
We Keep Chasing Singapore Travel Agents
This is what many Malaysian tourism players do.
First, we find a list of Singapore agents.
Then we send our company profile.
We send our packages.
We send our rates.
We WhatsApp them.
We follow up.
Then…
No reply.
After that, we say:
“Singapore agents don’t want to work with Malaysian agents.”
I understand the frustration.
But maybe we are asking the wrong question.
Instead of asking:
“How do I find more Singapore travel agents?”
Ask:
“How do I reach more Singapore customers?”
That changes everything.
Singapore Is More Than Travel Agents
There are at least three ways to enter the Singapore market.
B2B
You work with Singapore travel agents and tour operators.
B2C
You market suitable Malaysian products directly to Singapore consumers.
B2B2C
You collaborate with Singapore companies, schools, associations, clubs, communities, creators and event organisers.
One market.
Three ways to enter.
Why depend on only one?
But First, Can They Find You?
Imagine I am a Singapore traveller.
I see your tourism product on Facebook.
I am interested.
So I search for your company.
What will I find?
Do you have a proper website?
Can I understand your product?
Can I see the price?
Can I check the itinerary?
Can I read customer reviews?
Can I book and pay online?
Can I find your experience on TripAdvisor or Viator?
Or do I only see a phone number and the words:
“PM for price.”
That may work with someone who already knows you.
It is much harder with a stranger from another country.
A Singapore customer needs to trust you before paying you.
Your digital presence must answer three questions:
Are you real?
Is your product suitable for me?
Can I book it now?
If your website cannot answer those questions, you may be losing customers without even knowing it.
TripAdvisor Is Not Just for Reviews
Many travellers use TripAdvisor to decide what to do at a destination.
Viator, a Tripadvisor company, says its operator products can receive exposure through Viator, Tripadvisor and a wider distribution network. (Viator Operator Resources)
That does not mean you will automatically receive bookings.
You still need the right product.
Good pictures.
Clear information.
Competitive positioning.
Availability.
Reviews.
And a smooth booking process.
Getting listed is not the final objective.
Getting found and booked is the objective.
Stop Selling Another Generic Package
Singapore travellers have choices.
Malaysia.
Thailand.
Indonesia.
Vietnam.
Japan.
Korea.
China.
Cruises.
And many more.
So why should they choose your product?
“3 Days 2 Nights Malaysia Package” is not a strong enough answer.
Give them a reason.
For example:
48-Hour Malaysian Kampung Escape
Johor Food and Heritage Weekend
Family Farm Adventure Near Singapore
Malacca After-Dark Experience
Malaysian Wellness Weekend
Rainforest Micro-Adventure
Local Cooking and Community Experience
Don’t sell what everybody else is selling.
Find out what Singapore travellers want.
Then create the right product for them.
Here Is The Real Opportunity
You do not need one million Singapore customers.
Let’s use simple numbers.
If your average booking is RM1,000:
10 bookings = RM10,000.
100 bookings = RM100,000.
You only need to capture a tiny part of the market.
But you cannot capture a market that cannot find you.
You cannot sell a product they do not understand.
And you cannot get an online booking if your product is not bookable.
That is why every Malaysian tourism business should ask:
Can Singapore travellers find me?
Can they trust me?
Can they book me?
Do You Want to Penetrate the Singapore Market?
I am preparing a practical webinar for Malaysian tourism players.
This will not be another general talk about Singapore.
I want to show you how to:
Use AI to understand Singapore demand
Create products for Singapore travellers
Reach agents, partners and consumers
Build a professional tourism website
Make your products bookable online
Explore TripAdvisor/Viator connectivity
Become more visible and AI-ready
But before I conduct the webinar, I want to understand your real situation.
What have you tried?
What is not working?
What help do you need?
Please complete this short two-minute survey:
Check below 👇🏻
Your answers will help me make the webinar more practical for you.
Singapore travellers are already coming to Malaysia.
The market is already here.
The question is not whether the opportunity exists.
The question is whether your business is ready to capture it.
